Thank you Cindy!!! Also, the Clock Table.

Hey everyone!  I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas!  I just wanted to say thank you so much to Cindy for all of her help with starting my blog, and for hooking me up with all of you who are following me now.  I never expected to get so many followers so quickly, so I hope you all will bear with me while I learn the ropes and make this blog my own!

I've been caught up lately in all of the Christmas craziness, so I haven't had much time for work, but I've started to feel embarassed about having a blog with no posts. So without further adieu, here's an actual post about furniture:

I call this piece... wait for it... the clock table!  I used a mix of latex paints and homemade chalk paint (I'm too poor to afford Annie Sloan) on the background for the face, then gave it a good sanding and handpainted the numbers and detail.

I've had this table for quite some time and had a really tough time deciding what to do with it...  After a few failed ideas, some stripped paint (mostly accidental), and several misadventures with a very intricate stencil, I finally decided on the clock design.  I was inspired by a vintage french clock I saw in a design book, and I think it turned out great!

So there you have it, a piece of furniture, done by me.  I'm also really hoping to put up some pictures of my booth in the next week or two.  However, the current lighting in there leaves something to be desired, and since I'm just as good at photography as I am with blogging, I'm having some difficulty getting decent pictures...  Wish me luck!

  4. Hi Kris! Why should you pay for expensive paint if you can make it on our own??!!! Your table turned out great! With Cindy on your side, you will definitely be a successful blogger. I just had to start using the new interface and I'm having a hard time getting used to it. I don't do well with advances in technology so there is always a learning curve. Have a great weekend and a wonderful start to the new year. Tammy

  7. LOL! It sounds like we have a lot in common! Although judging by your photos of the clock table you're a lot better than me! I really love re-purposing furniture, but I haven't done much yet. I look forward to learning from you and following your growing business!

  10. What a cute table. Can't wait to see your other projects. I'm like addicted to reading about chalkboards so I hope you include LOTS of those - i've loved them since before it was chic! (Sort of like upcycling, repurposing, and trash to treasure stuff - been doing that for 30 years and thank God it's finally acceptable!).

Oh - and Cindy won't lead you wrong. She's a wise lady.

  12. This is awesome. I know how hard it is to get numbers spaced right on a clock table and this is so pretty.
